Panasonic projectors offer an immersive experience at the Linen Mill studios in Northern Ireland.
The global legion of Game of Thrones fans can now recreate their favorite scenes from the award-winning HBO series at the official Game of Thrones Studio Tour, featuring 4K laser projectors from Panasonic and 4K screens that provide an immersive experience of the Seven Kingdoms and beyond.
Located in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, at the heart of its major film studios, the Game of Thrones Studio Tour faithfully recreates scenes from the series and invites visitors to immerse themselves in a vast collection of costumes, accessories, and weapons from the hit HBO series.
It's Been a Cultural Phenomenon
Over eight seasons and 73 episodes, Game of Thrones garnered a staggering 272 awards worldwide, becoming a cultural phenomenon and a role model for future epic fantasy genre adaptations on screen. To ensure that the experience of this highly acclaimed production stayed alive, 15 Panasonic 4K 1-Chip DLP™ projectors were installed throughout the tour. Approximately 50 Panasonic 4K professional interactive screens, ranging from 55 to 98 inches, were also installed.
Leading-Edge Projection Is Crucial for an Immersive Experience
The superior color reproduction of Panasonic projectors allows visitors to the Game of Thrones Studio Tour to feel like they are on the set, as their 4K projectors display the highest level of detail, realism, and color when projected onto any surface, even in the typical uneven environments that have become a symbol of the series.
The projectors and screens have been carefully installed throughout the entire tour to ensure that the sets and environments are as realistic as possible and do not distort the overall visitor experience. This is made possible by Panasonic's flexible installation solutions, such as ultra-short-throw lenses, which allow visitors to get up close to the content without casting shadows.
As always, visitors' ability to take photos of the immersive projection and share them on social media is a key factor in maximizing the popularity of the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, and the quality provided by Panasonic projectors has been proven in existing installations worldwide.
Maximum Reliability, Maintenance-Free
Panasonic 4K 1-Chip DLP™ projectors were also chosen for their reputation and reliability, with a maintenance-free lifespan of up to 20,000 hours in fixed installations. This allows museums and attractions like the Game of Thrones Studio Tour to maximize visitor dwell time.
The sustainability of Panasonic projectors was crucial for the overall installation. The projectors' standby mode and the ability to manage them through the tour's control system enable them to be used only when needed, resulting in energy savings. Additionally, Panasonic 4K laser 1-Chip DLP™ projectors do not require constant replacement of incandescent lamps.
This is the only official tour of the world-famous Game of Thrones studio. After our grand opening, several members of the Warner Bros. extended family and senior management have visited the tour and have been incredibly impressed with what they have seen, given the importance of the brand. We are delighted that visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a world-class experience. Thanks to Panasonic, it is now possible to see the best that Game of Thrones has to offer in Northern Ireland, comments David Browne, Executive Director of Linen Mill Studio.
