SCOA's meeting rooms offer flexibility, content sharing and room control
The only comprehensive treatment center of its kind in the state, The Cancer Center at South Carolina Oncology Associates (SCOA) provides a variety of essential cancer care services in one convenient location. SCOA has been serving patients in Columbia, SC for more than 40 years and is proud to be one of the most influential cancer care facilities.
To deliver its cutting edge medical services, it’s imperative that SCOA be able provide their doctors, nurses, and staff members with unlimited access to the most dependable and intuitive technology. SCOA set about modernizing its meeting rooms and huddle spaces to provide local room control, and content sharing, video conferencing, and collaboration from laptops and mobile devices.
To make it a reality, they reached out to Irmo, SC based Crestron systems integrator Advanced AV Groups. “Thanks to Crestron technology, our meeting spaces are sleek, modern, and flexible, providing our employees with an intuitive and pleasant user experience.", says Frank Sobash, CEO of South Carolina Oncology Associates.
The South Carolina Oncology Associates modernized its meeting rooms and huddle spaces to provide local room control, and content sharing, video conferencing, and collaboration from laptops and mobile devices.
To bring the technology in the meeting rooms up to speed and make them more energy efficient, Advanced AV Group integrated the following Crestron technology: a 4K multi-window video processor that enables the display of up to four video sources simultaneously on a single screen so employees can easily share content and ideas; Cameo® wireless keypads; heating and cooling thermostats; Saros® in-ceiling speakers; and remote temperature and occupancy sensors.
Advanced AV Group also deployed a new control system to help manage and monitor the lighting and HVAC systems throughout the building. To reduce sun glare, they installed customized Crestron motorized shades to provide a sleek solution that seamlessly integrates with their new room control capabilities.
We needed a solution that would allow us to share content to a variety of different sources without imposing bulky technology throughout the space - Frank Sobash, CEO of SCOA
It was very important to the CEO of SCOA, Frank Sobash, for the solution to be flexible and discrete. “We needed a solution that would allow us to share content to a variety of different sources without imposing bulky technology throughout the space,” explains Sobash.
“It was easy to add onto the Crestron solution because the system is so flexible,” comments Justin Dox, Sales and System Designer at AV Group. “Our customer needed a solution that could grow and advance with them.”
With the help of Crestron, Advanced AV Group was able to introduce new and upgraded solutions that give SCOA employees intuitive communication, content sharing, collaboration, and room control capabilities in their meeting spaces, enabling them to be more productive and successful in their day-to-day activities. Additionally, the Crestron environmental control enhancements have improved comfort and increased energy efficiency.
