Datapath will be showcasing its latest Command and Control Room innovations at BSDA in Romania.

Staged at the Romaero Complex in Bucharest from May 22nd – 24th, BSDA is the international exhibition for Defence, Aerospace and Security, bringing together exhibitors, specialized visitors and official military delegations from around the world.

Taking place every two years, visitors to the show in Bucharest will be able to experience the very latest Aetria technology for Mission Critical Control Rooms as Datapath joins its valued solution partners in the region, GBC, on its C835 booth.

Capable of handling today’s vast volumes of video content in Command and Control environments, Datapath’s Aetria Workstation provides a unique bespoke video wall ability to operators, allowing them to display whatever sources they need on their desktop display, however they wish to see them. The benefits of such personalized displays are clear – operators can focus on their specific task with only their relevant information and can share any content on the larger video wall when necessary (user rights permitting, of course).

The demand for better quality is a perennial requirement – particularly in the defence and security sector. New Datapath developments have allowed 4k sources to be delivered to walls and workstations without the challenges of major compression. 10G networking means that multiple HD sources can be sent across a single wire and 4k sources can be delivered where they need to be with extremely little latency. Newer systems are now able to provide not only the 4K feed but also encoded versions of it so that the pristine quality version can go to the control room and a slightly lower quality one can be presented elsewhere in places where 1080p is quality enough.

Further benefitting a seamless Control Room operator experience, visitors to Datapath’s BSDA booth will get a hands-on experience of Aetria Touch, a dedicated tablet device that provides finger-tip control of video walls and workstations.

Aetria Touch is Datapath’s dedicated touch panel for Aetria installations. The 10.1-inch tablet is available with two distinct user modes of operation. Pre-packaged with Basic mode, users will be able to open pre-set layouts on video walls, whilst customers upgrading their environment to Advanced mode will encompass a full touch-based user interface, allowing greater control with features such as source drag and drop, layout design, scaling of content windows and video wall zoom capability.

“Our Aetria solution has proved popular with our customers over the past year, but technology does not stand still”, said Datapath Senior International Sales Manager, Andy Lee. “We are constantly looking at ways to improve user experience through our products and, although our tweaks and improvements are small, they can add up to a big difference”.

Datapath hardware and software can be found in some of the highest profile Command and Control and Mission Critical environments in the world and we look forward to demonstrating our latest solutions to the high calibre of attendees at BDSA. Along with our flagship VSN processors, KVM solutions and capture cards, we are proud to showcase technology that can be scaled to any control room requirement, and we encourage integrators who operate in this space to visit our booth for a friendly chat and a bespoke demo, he concludes.
